Every great love story has a beginning, and theirs started thanks to La’Monica’s co-worker’s little sister introducing her to the BLK dating app (If you know you know). On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, Lorenzo messaged La’Monica on the app and a few days later coordinated their first date which was supposed to be at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. It ended up raining on Sunday, July 31, 2022, so they decided to meet at Grotto Pizza in Columbia, MD instead. So from that very first date, they knew something special was unfolding.

After casually dating for a few months, Lorenzo asked La’Monica to be his girlfriend on Saturday, October 8, 2022, after they attended Morgan State University’s homecoming together. From that moment on, their connection only deepened. Sharing laughter, love, and countless memories, Lorenzo and La’Monica quickly realized they had found something special—a bond that felt like home.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓐𝓭𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮𝓼 𝓐𝓵𝓸𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓦𝓪𝔂

As time went on, they became inseparable—exploring new places, cheering each other on through life’s milestones, and making countless memories. Whether it was working out at Fitness 4 Less or attending Zion Church - Greenbelt together, going to the movies, or traveling to other states to continue to grow Yard Merch, LLC, every moment brought them closer.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓪𝓵

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Lorenzo planned a surprise, unforgettable evening, surrounded by family and friends and proposed to La’Monica. Leading up to the days before the proposal La’Monica thought they would be attending Lorenzo’s 10th line anniversary party for crossing into Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated. Little did she know Lorenzo had planned an entire engagement party with the help of his and her family, his fraternity brothers, and their friends.

The highlight of the night was La’Monica saying “Yes” and Lorenzo standing up and throwing his hands up over his head and yelling, “SHE SAID YES”!

Now, we are thrilled to celebrate this journey with you. Our wedding is not just a day—it’s a celebration of the love, laughter, and memories we’ve shared and those still to come. We can’t wait to share in our special day with our family and friends.

Because we enjoy attending formal events together, we request our guests to wear formal (after 5 o’ clock) attire to our wedding. Please be prepared to enjoy yourself as you celebrate with us on our special day. This event is invite only and children free (unless stated otherwise when RSVPing on the wedding website).
